There will be better books than this although just $3 for kindle version

Why is this booked listed as published in 2016? The author states in the book that "we are running (powershell) on Windows XP". And he explains how to install WIndows PS 1.0! We now have 5.0 available and in time when WIndows 10 is out.
So because of this, there seems to be quite a few commands that don't work in PS 5.0. I would assume they were omitted from the latest version. The author often advises to check help such as "about_escape_character" and a lot of them no longer exist in PS 5.0.
There will be better books than this although just $3 for kindle version, time spent reading this cost more than that and I felt it was wasted. There are a lot of jargon and the author goes on without explaining these which makes very hard to follow toward the mid chapters.
Amazon this is misleading - it should be clearly stated that this is about PS 1.0.Some info in this book is out-dated.

Your Money Is Better Spent Elsewhere.

This book is short, and very basic. It is setup for someone with at least some programming knowledge. Early in the first couple chapters it is implied that you know certain terms. It does not include a glossary or an index, so using it as a pocket reference is difficult. As with anything, if you practice you will learn it, I personally think that online tutorials for free are better than this book. This book should be priced way less than it is. If this is all you can afford and you need a powershell book today? It will get you buy. If you can wait and save more money, please do it.

Too few command demonstrated

This book is little more than a very basic primer. There aren't enough commands introduced to bother with it as a reference. Therefore it would be read once and done. You are better off doing a quick search online at Microsoft sites like TechNet. Skip this one. Not worth it.
